YOUNGSTERS from Penarth Youth Project have been praised for their ‘hard work and dedication’ after scooping three awards at the Vale of Glamorgan Youth Awards.

The glittering awards ceremony was held at Barry Memorial Hall last Thursday, March 13.

Max Williams won Volunteer of the Year, aged 14-18, for his hard work and commitment with the United Youth Club and Disability Teen Scheme, the Peer Facilitators won the Citizenship Award for their dedication and support with the United Youth Club and Disability Teen Scheme, and the Heads-Up group from Barry Comprehensive School won the Health and Wellbeing award for their outstanding work in delivering life skills training to the younger pupils.

Manager Tracey Downes said: “I congratulate all the young people, their awards were thoroughly deserved and I thank them for all their hard work and dedication to the Penarth Youth Project.

“I also thank the Penarth Youth Project staff and volunteers for their support and commitment, a truly great team.”

A Penarth Youth Project spokeswoman added: “It was a wonderful night and was topped off by the Teen Scheme Singing and Signing Choir opening the ceremony with a medley of popular songs. A good time was had by all.”
