Mementoes for inter-league players

First published in Penarth news

SIDES from Cadoxton Imps(U12) and Sully Sports(U16) represented the Vale of Glamorgan Football League in inter-league fixtures against Merthyr at the Sully Sports club on Sunday.

Both games were played in a sporting and competitive manner, with all players displaying their skills. Imps gained a narrow victory and Sports achieved a draw.

Kevin Shaw, chairman of the Vale of Glamorgan Referees' Society, which provided match officials who were all under the age of 18, presented a memento to every player.

The results mean that, in the annual fixtures between the two leagues, the Vale has won two, drawn one and lost one.

Following last week's report on fixtures played at Merthyr, it should be noted that the team representing the Vale at U13 level was Cogan Coronation and not Sully Sports.
