JUDITH Lewis, a member of Soroptimist International Barry and District, has been a passionate supporter for many years of the charity Water Aid.
To mark World Water Day on March 22, Judith filled a bottle with dirty water and asked “Would you like to drink this? She then asked members to fill the other bottle with money. As she said, “It is easy for us to take clean water for granted as all we have to do it turn on the tap. However, millions of people don’t have this basic necessity, which impacts on their health, education and livelihoods. We know that providing safe, clean water can change everything for communities around the world”. It was not long before the bottle was full of money and £50 will be sent to Water Aid.
