A PENARTH couple have become the first newlyweds to tie the knot at West House after the town council was granted a wedding licence.

Colin Campbell and Hayley Sagastume exchanged rings in the Mayor’s Parlour/ Members Meeting Room on Friday, April 25.

After being congratulated and informed that they were the first couple to be married at West House, the new Mrs Campbell said that as a born and bred Penarth girl she was delighted to have been able to have a ceremony at West House.

Shan Bowden, town clerk at Penarth Town Council, said: “West House is already proving popular as a marriage or civil ceremony venue with a number of bookings in the pipeline. West House is a prestigious venue, the grounds provide opportunity for some great photographs and there is also limited parking available."

Anyone interested in booking the oak panelled room that can accommodate up to 50 persons for their ceremony should contact the Town Council office on 02920 700721 or check out details on the Town Council website www.penarthtowncouncil.gov.uk.
