ME SUPPORT in Glamorgan (Mesig) is a charity for people with ME/Cfs and Fibromyalgia has arranged some events.

A film about ME called ‘Voices From The Shadows’ is being shown in Penarth Pavilion on May 12, at 2pm.

‘Voices from the Shadows’ is a compelling and intensely moving one hour documentary. It is an act of witness, supported by concerned professionals who reveal the heartbreaking injustice hidden in our midst.

These are stories of life and death and although difficult to believe in this day and age, they are true - they happened.

So many stories like these, stories of love, courage and determination, remain untold – and similar tragedies are still taking place.

Mesig has also launched an e-petition calling for an ME clinic, specialist and team and is calling on the National Assembly for Wales to urge the Welsh Government to ensure that a dedicated consultant/clinic and medical support team for Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME), Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia sufferers is set up in South East Wales.

Mesig requests that this petition be treated as an official voice of ME sufferers, their families, carers and interested parties.

Currently, sufferers of the above ailments are not being supported, with a few exceptions, by the medical profession.

They are unable to work but the government bodies assessing them do not appear to understand their problems. This is the basis for this petition.

Mesig will have a stand in Heath Hospital on May 13, from 9am to 5.30pm, raising awareness for ME Awareness Week.
