TWO teams from Evenlode Primary School, Penarth, served up some excellent tennis when they competed in a tournament at Cardiff's David Lloyd Centre.
Taking part in a mini reds final, the school was represented by boys' and mixed teams of pupils aged six to eight.
Both teams produced some brilliant play to reach the play-offs with wins over schools from Newport, Cardiff and Pembrokeshire.
The mixed team, consisting of Harry Ritchie, Holly Ritchie, Will Bailey and Amelia Mitchelle, battled hard but were, unfortunately, knocked out in the semi-finals.
However, the boys' team, made up of Harry Davies, Daniel Ingram, Sebastian Griffiths and Sebb Forton, won both their semi-final matches and also the finals very comfortably to win the overall competition. In total, they played 28 games (a mixture of singles and doubles) and lost just once.
A school spokesman said: "A brilliant performance all round from both teams."
