THE owners of the closed-down Timothy’s cafe on Station Approach have applied for longer opening hours in a bid to find a new tenant for the premises.
The owners have applied for planning permission to alter the opening hours from 6am until 11pm from Monday to Saturday, and until 10.30pm on Sunday’s.
The current opening hours are 6am until 6pm Monday to Saturday, and 9am until 5pm on Sunday’s.
The application gained support from Penarth councillors when it went before the planning and transportation committee.
Town Clerk Shan Bowden told the committee the owners were trying to re-let the premises and were looking at the option of extending opening hours of the former cafe that is located next to the Paramount restaurant.
Penarth Town Council showed no objections to the planning application.
