THE Better Life Appeal which supports the All Wales Adult Cystic Fibrosis Centre based at Llandough Hospital was delighted to receive £1,000 from the Penarth branch of the RAOB.

The only adult Cystic Fibrosis centre in Wales cares for almost 250 patients. Young adults transfer to the adult centre from paediatric services in Wales at the age of 16-18. By 2015, it is expected that they will be caring for upwards of 350 patients from Wales with Cystic Fibrosis. Demand is increasing.

The centre aims to provide its patients with the best care, support, advice and encouragement to meet the needs of each individual and their families with this life-long disease.

The Cardiff and Vale Health Charity and staff at the Cystic Fibrosis centre would like to thank the Clarence Duke of Cambridge Lodge of the RAOB for their generous donation of £1,000. The RAOB have been raising money for charity for over 100 years and the Better Life Appeal wish them well in their efforts to recruit new members and in continuing their support to local charitable causes.

Cardiff and Vale Health Charity is the official charity for Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. They do not replace NHS funding, but provide additional funds and support the continued world-class services and treatment provided in the community.
