ANOTHER Penarth woman is celebrating reaching 1000 workouts at a local fitness centre.

Wendy Mathews, who first joined Curves Penarth in 2008, is the second member to achieve the milestone after Hazel Bransfield earlier this month.

Wendy attends the ladies gym in Penarth four times a week to take part in 30 minute workouts.

Since joining Curves she has seen a considerable difference to her wellbeing and has made many lifelong friends.

Sandra Mannings, a coach at Curves Penarth, has been with her every step of the way. “Wendy has been an inspiration to all the ladies at Curves and is a wonderful member to have in the club,” she said.

Wendy celebrated her amazing achievement with other members and staff on July 24 with flowers and champagne.

Delyth Williams, owner of Curves Penarth, is “very proud” to see her members achieving such great results.

Coaches from Curves Penarth also recently took part in the Race for Life 5k, raisisng money for Cancer Research, at Bute Park in Cardiff,

Alice Essam, a coach at Curves Penarth, was overwhelmed by the crowd of more than 5000 people that participated in the 5k run, jog or walk. “Thank you to all our inspirational members that supported us, it was an emotional day for all,” she said.
