THE 18th "Open Gardens Trail" in Penarth, was extremely successful, yet again.
It has raised just under £5,000 for The Children’s Society.
We were blessed with glorious summer sunshine on both days, which brought the visitors from far and wide.
On behalf of The Society I should like to thank all the Garden owners for their generosity in opening their gardens, Mr/Mrs Starling, Miss Hazel Dickson, M/s Diana Mead, Mr/Mrs Declan O’Docherty, Mr/Mrs Jon Dewis, Miss Freda Welch Mr and Mrs Rob Edwards and not forgetting all those involved with the Sully Terrace Allotments.
There were 14 raffle prizes all of which have been delivered to the winners.
A big thank you to Knight Print, for their generosity at this time and to the Penarth Times for its advanced publicity for this very popular event.
But it’s you the public who make this event a success every year, long may it continue.
Ann Lush MBE
Hon vice President the Children’s Society UK.
Chairman Penarth Committee.
