THREE Penarth schoolchildren have scaled the highest mountain in south Wales in aid of charity.

Brother and sister Alfie and Annie Farmer, aged 10 and nine respectively, as well as six-year-old Dylan Sullican, climbed Pen y Fan in a bid to raise money for Newport Women's Aid on Saturday, August 9.

They were part of a group of 30 dedicated individuals who had given up their Saturday to take on the challenge organised by Steps Training, a local training company who have selected Newport Women’s Aid to be their charity of the year.

Dylan was also the youngest in the team to complete the tough climb.

Tori Brown, service manager for NWA, said: “A huge Thank You to everyone for taking part in the Pen Y Fan challenge on Saturday and raising much-needed funds for Newport Women’s Aid – we have raised over £600 as well as raising awareness of domestic abuse."
