EMPLOYEES of a Penarth-based housing association tackled sub-zero temperatures and electrics shocks in the Tough Mudder challenge last weekend.

A team from First Choice, based on Stanwell Road, took part in the endurance event that features a 19km military style obstacle course last Saturday, August 16.

Designed and created by British Special Forces to test mental as well as physical strength, obstacles played on common human fears, such as fire, water, electricity and heights.

The team endured sub-zero ice baths, electric shocks, mud mile and pyramid walls and were tested on their all-round strength, stamina, teamwork and mental grit.

Tough Mudder is considered one of the toughest events on the planet, but the team achieved success in just over three hours and to date have raised £800 for Help for Heroes.
