A NEW retail shop offering boutique accessories and gifts is set to open on Penarth seafront.

'Shore' will be officially opened on Saturday, November 22.

Created by Peter Knowles and Andy Bradshaw, owners of Hamptons in Penarth town centre, Shore will be a boutique store offering high quality, design led home accessories and gifts.

Under the branding of “Shore – Life is better at the beach” Peter and Andy’s new venture is a celebration of coastal living - everyone’s dream of having a home by the sea where waves crash onto golden sand, dune grasses move gently in the warm, salty breeze and life is relaxed and easy. “There is something incredibly appealing about living by the sea and taking coastal living as the inspiration for Shore combined with its location seemed a completely natural choice," said Peter.

Speaking about why they had chosen to open a second shop in Penarth. Peter added: “Penarth is a really vibrant town with a hugely successful mix of independent shops, cafes, restaurants and businesses. People who live in the town are very loyal and together with the increasing number of people from further afield who regularly visit Penarth they are helping to create a thriving local economy. We believe that opening a new and different retail outlet can only help to further develop this."

He added: "We're delighted with the location being opposite the pier – recently voted Britain’s number one pier with its newly refurbished pavilion, and just a stone’s throw from the Michelin starred James Sommerin restaurant and boutique hotel in the new Beachcliff development."

Both award winning designers, Andy and Peter relished the challenge of creating the branding for Shore and the design of the interior.

“The style is New England,” said Andy “with timbers painted in pale neutral colours and the product displays bathed in the kind of light you might expect to enjoy on a summers day at the beach.

"All of the products offered in Shore have been carefully chosen to reflect the concept of coastal living. With everything from home fragrance, tableware, and wall art to cushions, greetings cards, gifts and home accessories the products will appeal to those taking a leisurely stroll on the seafront as well as those making a dedicated journey to visit."
