SIX lucky children had the opportunity to help keep Dinas Powys safe when they took on the roles of Police Community Support Officers for the day.
The youngsters were specially trained to become PCSOs for the day and also walked the beat with PCSO Stuart Wilby.
The youngsters worked closely with PCSO Wilby to make sure that the local community were all kept safe and learned about the role of Police Community Support Officers.
PCSO Stuart Wilby said: “The youngsters were wonderful, they had a very strong sense of what is right and wrong.
“I really enjoy my job. You get to meet different members of the community on a daily basis.
"My PCSO role enables me to engage with the local community and work with them to deal with issues that the community have raised and try to make the area a better place for the local residents to live in.
"I hope that by spending some time as a PCSO that the children gained a better understanding of the work that we do.
"You never know, they may be going after my job in a few years."
