COGAN Primary School raised more than £400 for one its own pupils by holding a sponsored Christmas Jumper Day on Friday, December 12.

All pupils and staff wore Christmas jumpers to raise money for five-year-old fellow pupil Jayla Mullen to have a life-changing operation.

Jayla, who's family are hoping to raise more than £40,000 for the pioneering surgery, was born with a form of cerebral palsy which means that although she is able to walk it is often very painful and difficult.

Headteacher Mrs Susan Sibert would like to express her thanks to all the kind donations the children sent in and the fantastic support received from all watching the Christmas concerts, who also donated after each show. The school were pleased to be able to hand over £450 to the 'Jayla's Fund my Wish' appeal.
