A MAN has been charged with drink driving after a car ended up on its roof on Lavernock Road last night (January 15).
Police were called to Lavernock Road, at the junction with Beach Road near the Captain’s Wife, at around 8.25pm after a white Audi collided with a lamp post.
A 43-year-old man was arrested and charged with drink driving at the scene.
Precautionary medical checks were done by attending ambulance staff.
A South Wales Fire Service spokeswoman said that three people “ self extricated” from the vehicle, and crews from Penarth, Barry and Ely attended the scene.
A South Wales Ambulance spokeswoman added: “We responded with a BASICS doctor and an emergency ambulance.”
It is believed that three people were treated at the scene, with at least one patient taken to the University Hospital of Wales.
