LOCAL choirs from across Penarth are set to perform at the town mayor's charity concert at the Paget Rooms this weekend.

The town mayor, Councillor Martin Turner, said: "I am very grateful to the choirs whose members have agreed to come along to this event to sing and entertain those present. I would encourage everyone to come along on Saturday where you can enjoy a glass of wine/or soft drink and a selection of cheeses and biscuits while listening to the choirs and all for a £10 entrance fee."

The concert will feature the following choirs: Cavatina, Sully U3A Singing for Pleasure Group, Penarth Community Choir, Angela Morris Parry Ensemble, Trinity Singers and The Spectrum Singers.

All proceeds from the concert, which starts at 7pm, will go to the town mayor’s nominated charities which are the Llamau (young homeless) and Penarth Live at Home Scheme.

Cllr Turner added: "With an impressive bill of performers, a delicious supper included in the ticket price and the opportunity to win some fantastic prizes whilst raising money for two incredibly worthy causes this is an evening not to be missed."

Tickets for the charity concert at the Paget Rooms from 7pm on Saturday, February 28, can be purchased from West House.
