WESTBOURNE Junior School definitely made their faces funny for money on Friday, March 13.

Following this year’s Red Nose Day theme pupils and staff joined in the fundraising day with several different activities.

For a donation children were allowed to come to school in their own clothes and had to wear at least one red item, they could also pay to have their faces painted by the teachers.

The children chose lots of different designs for their faces, some of the most popular being animals, pirates and superheroes.

Several children chose to be painted like one of the teachers so we had six “mini Mr Murray’s” as well as the real Mr Murray.

One of the most popular parts of the day was when the children bought raffle tickets for a prize draw, the prize being to paint a teacher’s face.

This resulted in some scary looking faces as well as some beautiful designs and a few more animals.

Parents were able to enjoy seeing all the funny faces at their Friday afternoon assembly.

The school also had a cake sale at break time and from all the activities raised £220 for the Red Nose Day charities.
