TRANSPORT Schemes across Wales will receive grants to support economic growth, improve safety and promote walking and cycling.

Nearly £27 million has been announced for the transport schemes, with the Vale of Glamorgan receiving £79,750 for road safety education and training plus additional funds for safe routes in the community.

The Vale will receive £349,767 for the Port Road Cycle Rout which will provide a section of off road footpath/cycle path linking new housing estates to towns and schools.

The road safety education and training funding will be for high risk and vulnerable groups, such as children, young people, older drivers and motorcyclists in the Vale of Glamorgan.
