FOUR Penarth sixth-formers have left for a three-week expedition to Kerala in Southern India with the organisation World Challenge.

Phoebe and Harriet Elias, Betsan Jones and Rhiannon Berry, all from Penarth, are pupils at Ysgol Bro Morgannwg Barry.

Having raised more than £3,000 each to fund their trip, the girls will be undertaking a wide variety of exciting activities during the three-week trip, including a jungle trek and important volunteering work at a local school. They will all be sharing experiences with local school children of life in Penarth. They will also be visiting a wide variety of cultural sites in the area including a wildlife sanctuary and a trip on the backwaters of Kerala.

Thank you to all their friends in the area who have supported them in their challenge.
