THE complete line up for next month's Penarth Picnic street food extravaganza has been announced - with a weekend of tasty treats on the menu.

Joining the previously announced vendors will be Restaurant James Sommerin, Pickled Pepper Penarth with Chef Anand George, Maison Crepe and Old Cogan Hall Farm.

A Penarth Town Council spokeswoman said: "Restaurant James Sommerin opened last summer and since then the Head Chef has been making waves on the food scene in Penarth.

"The restaurant was recently listed in Square Meal’s Top 100 Restaurants and James will be cooking a special street food menu for Picnic Penarth. We can’t wait.

"Pickled Pepper Penarth was voted the best takeaway in South Wales. With innovative Indian cuisine approved by Chef Anand George, you can be sure that there will be exciting new flavours to try and the hint of a friendly cook-off with good friend, Chef James Sommerin.

"Maison Crepe is a labour of love by a mother and daughter partnership. Creating delicious sweet crepes from scratch. Their little purple van can be spotted all over Wales at events and parties, bringing the freshest, quality ingredients for the perfect crepe.

"Old Cogan Hall Farm is Penarth’s only farm. They raise lamb, pork and poultry on their land near Cosmeston and create dishes such as Pork, Chilli and Chocolate sausages and Lamb with Lavender. Picnic Penarth will be the first outing for the farm’s new street food trailer."

These vendors join Hokkei, Pizza Pronto, Science Cream, The Vale of Glamorgan Brewery and The Bottle Shop, who were announced last week.

Penarth’s first street food festival, Picnic Penarth, will take place on Saturday and Sunday, September 5 and 6.

The festival, which is being held at Gimber Motors, next to Penarth Railway Station, brings together street food specialists from Penarth and South Wales, to create a pop-up restaurant to suit everyone.

Picnic Penarth opens on Saturday night 6pm to 11pm for drinks, dancing and dinner in the dark. On Sunday, the festival will bring you coffee, bands and alternative Sunday lunch from 11am to 4pm.

There will be undercover seating throughout the weekend, as well as live music, and a fully-licensed bar.
