RESTAURANT James Sommerin has becomes Wales' top rated restaurant in the good Food Guide.

The restaurant on Penarth Esplanade has been awarded 24th place in the guide, which puts it top in Wales, and it comes ahead of eateries such as Heston Blumenthal's Diner and Sketch in London.

James, who has previously won a Michelin star when chef at the Crown at Whitebrook in Monmouthshire, has been running the fine dining restaurant for just over a year together with his wife Louise and has received rave reviews locally and nationally.

Since his arrival in Penarth, James Sommerin has established himself and the restaurant as a key part of the town’s community, teaching in the local college, visiting Westbourne Primary School and taking part in the Penarth Food Festival.
