A VAST array of organisations attended a volunteers' event in Dinas Powys recently.
It was held in the parish hall and was organised by local charity, Dinas Powys Voluntary Concern.
It was an opportunity for residents to see what opportunities existed for them to offer their services.
Organisations attending included the Scouts, Dinas Powys Community Library, Girl Guides, Citizens Advice, Crossroads, British Heart Foundation, Glamorgan Volunteer Services, the Alzheimer’s Society, Diverse Cymru, Cardiff and Vale College, the Safer Vale Partnership and the Parkinson’s Society.
Dinas Powys craft business, White Gecko gave demonstrations through out the day.
Councillor John Fanshaw, chair of DPVC, said the day proved to be "very useful."
He added: "Potential volunteers saw what a range of societies were available.
"As a bonus, the different organisations were able to exchange information and experiences.
"This in itself proved to be very useful. Dinas Powys Voluntary Concern is always available to offer advice."
Councillor Keith Hatton, chair of the community Council was a special guest and welcomed everyone to the event.
He said: "The community is indebted to all those who so freely give their time to assist others."
