PENARTH'S Handmade Market is set to return to the Paget Rooms, with activities aimed at children taking place for the first time.

On Sunday June 26 parents and children can take part in activities running throughout the day, as well as browsing the 43 stalls on show.

Also, for the first time, there will be three sewing workshops taking place aimed at six to 10-year-olds, run by Cardiff based designer Oh! Susannah.

Children can have a go at making a Fantastic Mr Fox mask, a funky wristband, or a present for their teacher as an end of term gift, said the organisers.

April Liddell, from Little Otter Events: “We are so excited to introduce sewing workshops to this summer’s Penarth’s Handmade Market."

“Parents, why not pre-book the kids in to an hour workshop, then on the day enjoy a cup of tea in our pop-up cafe and go and browse our 40 stalls of high quality contemporary craft and food in peace?

“This will be our third Penarth’s Handmade Market and we can’t wait to be back. At each market, we aim to showcase new makers and introduce new themes.

"On June 26 we will have 15 new makers who have never showcased their work with us before, many from Penarth and the Vale.”

As well as the workshops, which need to be pre-booked online, there will be "have a go" screen printing from Bless Our Press, face painting, and badge making for a small fee with Penarth based maker Ceri Lambert Designs and The Crafty Badgers.
