A plan to redevelop the main shopping area in Penarth as a pedestrian precinct was studied this week by Penarth Council's Planning Committee which is to pursue the matter with the County Planning Authority.

Large crowds are expected at the annual Sully fete on Saturday afternoon, organised by the Friends of Sully Hospital.

Stalls, sideshows, exhibition of patients' craft and home-made stalls are among the many activities offered.

Tea will be on sale and fun for every member of the family is promised by the organisers.

When Whitchurch is taken over by the Cardiff City Council, Dinas Powis (St Andrew's Major) will be the largest parish in the Cardiff Rural District Council Area.
