A CHARITY is challenging people to raise money for elderly people in Penarth by braving a walk on razor sharp broken glass.
The national older person’s charity MHA is looking for fundraisers to take on the challenge of the glass walk next month.
The challenge takes place on Friday, August 5 at Morel Court on Raisdale Road in Penarth.
The money raised through the event will go towards supporting older people through the charity’s community-based Live at Home schemes, music therapy and chaplaincy services with 25 per cent of all sponsorship going directly to Morel Court.
There is a registration fee of £20 and the charity asks that fundraisers raise at least £100 for MHA, which will go towards its work with older people in Penarth and across the country.
Zoe Steer, community fundraising manager, said: "This is a wonderful opportunity for people to try a new and exciting activity at the same time as raising funds for our vital services supporting older people."
Full training for the event will be given to all participants at 6pm before the walk starts at 6.30pm
All participants must attend the training and the minimum age to take part is 12 years old.
Friends and family are welcome to watch the walkers.
The Tesco store in Cardiff Bay is sponsoring a BBQ at Morel Court during the event which is free for event participants with a £5 charge for their supporters.
