AN AWARD-WINNING jewellery shop in Penarth has been named among 100 small businesses in the UK to feature in a national campaign.

Anne Morgan Jewellery will be one of the businesses celebrated by Small Business Saturday, which culminates in a dedicated day for small businesses in December.

It will now be among the select number to feature in the campaign, which will focus on one business per day for 100 days leading up to the event itself.

The Glebe Street shop showcases work from more than 30 selected designers promising quality craftsmanship and design.

With a workshop on the premises, Ms Morgan and her team are also able to offer a bespoke service of new and remodelled jewellery.

Ms Morgan said: "Having made the big step to open an Anne Morgan Jewellery store last year, the business is growing day-by-day.

"I have been making jewellery for the past 20 years and I wanted my love of jewellery to reach a wider audience and to encourage people to support small businesses.

"Buying from my store not only supports me but also supports all those many jewellers making in their garden sheds or shared workshops up and down the country."

This is the fourth year of the campaign - which last year saw £623m spent with small businesses across the UK on Small Business Saturday, an increase of £119m, or 24 per cent, on the previous year.

Over 75 per cent of local councils supported the campaign last year, including the Vale of Glamorgan Council.
