SALES at Oxfam Penarth's third vinyl record promotion have surpassed £1000 in three days.

Customers have flooded in to the shop on the first few days buying singles and LP’s from all genres and decades including from the Beatles and the Cure.

The promotion will continue for at least two more weeks with stock being added as it is donated to the shop.

Nigel Billingham, Oxfam Penarth shop music volunteer said: "We are absolutely delighted with the vinyl sales at the start of our promotion.

"We would like to thank all those customers who came and purchased records from us but our particular thanks goes to all those people who kindly donated vinyl as without their contribution the promotion would not be a success.

"We always like to offer our regular customers the first chance to see and buy our collectable records and they give us positive feedback on their purchases.”

Vinyl is growing in popularity throughout the UK.

There is still time to donate to Penarth Oxfam.

Donations can be dropped into the shop on Windsor Road but larger collections can be picked up by arrangement.
