PUPILS of a Vale-based dance school celebrated their success during an awards ceremony on October 15.

Anthea M King School of Dancing, which runs classes in Penarth, Barry and Sully, celebrated the success of their students by giving out performance awards, medals and reports following their tests in June.

The dancing school has been active for 35 years, and was this year awarded with silver in Dance School of the Year and a High Achiever Award for Performance, both of which they received for the second year running.

The event was attended by more than 100 people including Vale MP Alun Cairns, who were all treated to a dancing display by some of the younger pupils of the school.

Mr Cairns presented the awards, and commented on the quality of the tuition and success of the school.

He said: “Congratulations are clearly due, not only to these exceptionally talented students of dance, but to Anthea and Alicia King who have made all of this possible.

“I have seen both Anthea and Alicia’s skilful and nurturing approach to teaching dance over the years and am constantly impressed by the results. It is right that they have been recognised as one of the very best dancing schools in the country for their unwavering effort and dedication.”
