RUGBY stars have helped deliver hundreds of Christmas gifts to Ty Hafan.

Cardiff Blue players Matthew Morgan and Aled Summerhill assisted a team in delivering 500 gifts, including toys from Hamleys, Lego and Disney, to the Sully children's charity.

The donation was part of St David's Toy Appeal, where people are asked to buy a gift for a child.

The toy appeal, which runs until December 22, will see hundreds of toys donated to 12 charities across South Wales.

Fullback Morgan said: "It was fantastic to meet the amazing children and their families, whilst delivering the biggest donation of gifts I’ve ever seen.

"The St David’s Toy Appeal brings the spirit of Christmas to life for people that may not enjoy the festive season we all know and love."

Summerhill added: "Buying an extra gift whilst doing your Christmas shopping is all you have to do to ensure more children have a very special Christmas this year."

Natalie Whyatt, T? Hafan’s corporate partnership manager, said: "To everyone who donated toys to this year’s St David’s Toy Appeal - you will make a lot of children and families very happy this Christmas.

"Thank you also to Cardiff Blues players Aled Summerhill and Matt Morgan for taking time out of their busy schedule to visit the hospice and deliver the toys."

Steven Madeley, general manager at St David’s, said: "We are thrilled to be supporting twelve inspirational Welsh charities to help bring some Christmas magic to the families that they represent.

"T? Hafan provides invaluable support to families across South Wales and beyond, and our shoppers are really embracing the spirit of Christmas – the generosity so far has been overwhelming."
