A MAN accused of stealing hundreds of pounds worth of meat from a family butchers just days before Christmas has been charged with burglary.
Alan James Hood, 52, from Dinas Powys, will stand trial at Cardiff Crown Court next month after Mark Griffith Family Butchers was broken-into sometime between 7pm on December 22 and 5am on December 23.
Hood entered no plea when he appeared at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on Monday, January 16.
He has been remanded in custody and will now stand trial at Cardiff Crown Court on Monday, February 13.
A 26-year-old man from Cardiff has also been arrested in connection with the offence.
He has been released on bail pending further investigation.
