AN INVESTIGATION is underway after two youths were assaulted near a rugby club.
Officers were called to reports of a disturbance involving a number of youths on Lavernock Road at approximately 10pm on Saturday, April 8.
The incident occurred near the Old Penarthians Rugby Club and two people were taken to hospital.
Inquiries are continuing and anyone who witnessed the incident but has not yet given their account to police is urged to contact 101, quoting reference 1700133036.
A spokesman for the Welsh Ambulance Service confirmed they were called to the incident.
They sent a paramedic in a rapid response vehicle and a crew in an emergency ambulance and that two patients were taken to the University Hospital of Wales.
