AT THE RECENT annual Sully Painting Group summer exhibition, Pat Clifton’s painting of a stormy day at Penarth Pier was voted the most appealing painting by visitors to the exhibition.

Second and third favourites were Marilyn Davies’ Highlander and Sally Wiltshire’s painting of a hare.

Pat Clifton was presented with the Norman Thomas Silver Cup for 2017 by the chairman, Nigel Adams, at the summer end of year meal at the Seashore Grill in Sully on July 11.

The proceeds of the exhibition will be presented to this year’s chosen charities – Mind and Ty Hafan children’s hospice at the AGM in October.

Mr Adams said: "Once again, we thank everyone who came to support the exhibition and look forward to their continued support next year."
