A GROUP of about 20 ladies dressed in their summer best met in Sully recently to attend a garden party to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.

At the end of the afternoon the winner of the ‘Clock in a Box’ fundraiser was revealed when the sealed box was opened by Ann Davies and the time that the clock had stopped was found to be 12.41.

That particular time had been bought by Susie Ryall who, coincidentally, works as a volunteer in the Cancer Research shop in Penarth. She was presented with a prize cheque of £100.

The garden party raised £270 and the ‘Clock in a Box’ raised a total of £369.

The next event will be a fair at the Paget Rooms on November 11 at 10am.
