SPANISH restaurant firm Bar 44 is celebrating its 15th birthday this month, and is offering diners at its Penarth tapas bar the chance to win the holiday of a lifetime to celebrate.

Having opened their first restaurant in Cowbridge in 2002 before unveiling their Penarth premises a few years later, brothers Owen and Tom Morgan have since seen their Bar 44 Tapas y Copas Group listed on the Sunday Times Top 25 best new restaurants in the UK in 2015, and as runners up in the Observer Food Monthly Best Restaurant list in 2016.

And to mark their 15th birthday this month, Bar 44 Group have teamed up with luxury wine distributor Gonzales Byass, offering anyone who orders a bottle of Vilarnau Cava the chance to win a trip for two to Barcelona, to visit the beautiful Vilarnau winery.

Alongside this, they will also be offering a unique retro dish at each restaurant – costing the same as when they first opened their doors back in 2002.

Owen Morgan said: "Having a workforce who care about the food and drink they serve and want to share that passion with our customers has been the key to our success over the last 15 years.

"In that time, Spanish food in the UK has changed a lot, but to celebrate our fifteen years in business, this month we’ll be putting on a whole host of specials including serving unique retro dishes at each of our four restaurants at knockdown 2002 prices."

Tom Morgan said: "It has been an incredible 15 years. We are very thankful for the loyal customers who visit our restaurants time and time again. We have loved every minute, and can’t wait to see what the next 15 years bring."
