The following cases were heard at Cardiff and Vale Magistrates' Court sitting at Cardiff:

Lisa Martin Chinn, aged 20, of Millbrook Heights, Dinas Powys, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis having be required to do so when suspected of having driven a vehicle. A community order was made requiring 180 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months. She was ordered to pay £85 costs and an £85 surcharge.

Matthew Alexander, aged 33, of Cedar Way, Penarth, pleaded guilty to driving after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion in his breath exceeded the limit. He was fined £400 and disqualified from holding or obtaining a licence for 12 months. He was ordered to pay £85 costs a £40 surcharge.

Kamal John Junior Coles, aged 30, of Criccieth Court, Dinas Powys pleaded guilty to using threatening or abusive words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour during the period of a suspended sentence. He was fined £100 and the suspended sentence of six weeks extended to 14 months. He was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £30 surcharge.
