THIS week’s From the Archive piece features the Penarth Beatles tribute band The Beatboys.
Here the popular group can be seen playing at Cardiff’s Wynford Hotel in 1981.
Howard, The Beatboys drummer, gave contributor Pete Brookside the photo many years ago.
It was around the time he had just returned from staying at Bhaktivedanta Manor, the mansion donated to the Hare Krishna Society by real Beatle George Harrison, as a guest of the Krishna monks.
Many thanks to Pete Brookside for sending us this photograph and his memories of a popular Penarth band.
We are always looking for historical photographs of Penarth and its people.
If you think you’ve got something of interest, share it with us by e-mailing penarthtimes@penarthtimes.co.uk with a short explanation of the background to the picture.
