A MAN who fell down a cliff near Penarth has been taken to hospital.
Penarth Coastguard was called out at 8.55am on Tuesday (January 16) to St Mary's Well Bay.
They had received reports that a couple walking their dogs had found the 57-year-old on the beach.
Paramedics from the Welsh Ambulance Service provided first aid and once stabilised taken away from the scene by helicopter and handed over to an ambulance to be taken to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff with non-life-threatening injuries.
A spokesman for the Welsh Ambulance Service said: "We were called at approximately 8.45am on Tuesday morning to reports a man had fallen from a cliff at St Mary’s Well Bay near Penarth.
"We sent a paramedic in a rapid response vehicle and a crew in an emergency ambulance and a man was airlifted to the University Hospital of Wales by search and rescue helicopter with non-life-threatening injuries."
