PENARTH Cytûn welcomed former Plaid Cymru leader Dafydd Wigley to Stanwell Road Baptist Church Hall, as they marked the beginning of the Easter period with the second of their annual Lent Lunches.
Mr Wigley visited the church with his wife, the famous harpist Elinor Bennett, last Friday (February 23), as they sampled a choice of soups and cheese prepared by Capel Bethel and Elfed Avenue United Church.
This was the second in a series of six lunches which will continue across the next four weeks, the proceeds from which are being donated to Christian Aid. More than £400 was raised from each of the first two lunches.
The remaining lunches continue to be open to members of the public to attend, and take place between 12pm and 1.30pm each Friday afternoon.
