THE CEO of Penarth-based firm OpenGenius has paid a visit to the Palace of Westminster, to discuss the growing Welsh technology sector with government ministers alongside other representatives from the industry.
Chris Griffiths was among a number of the sector's representatives to meet with the minister for digital and creative industries, Margot James, and Wales office minister Stuart Andrew earlier this week.
The round-table event took place during 'Wales Week in London', to celebrate the successes of Wales’ thriving tech sector
Mr Griffiths' OpenGenius are responsible for the pioneering 'brainstorming' and project planning software 'iMindMap', as well as the visual task management app 'DropTask'.
Ministers learned about emerging trends and priorities in the region and discussed the wider economic and societal impacts that might result from new innovations.
Ms James said: “Today has been a great opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the Welsh tech sector and discuss how we can continue to support our world-class entrepreneurs and digital innovators across the country.
“It was also encouraging to talk about how to improve diversity in the sector as we celebrate International Women’s Day.”
