DINAS Powys Rotarians have welcomed their latest new member to the club, Marlais Hughes.
Former teacher Mr Hughes, who moved to Penarth one year ago along with his wife, Cherry, was inducted into the Dinas Powys Rotary Club on Thursday, March 8.
Mr Hughes began his teaching career in the Vale of Glamorgan before moving to Ely in Cardiff and subsequently Ceredigion, where he was a headmaster in Welsh-language schools prior to his retirement.
He has been a member of other Rotary clubs in Ledbury and Cardigan, and used his teaching background to get involved with youth opportunities through the Rotarians such as Young Musician, Youth Speaks; in Welsh and English and Young Chef.
