A FORMER Vale of Glamorgan mayor will join five other individuals in having his head shaved for a hospital charity.
Former Barry Buttrills ward councillor and former Barry Town Council leader, Stuart Egan will lose his locks outside the Llandough Hospital (UHL) art gallery at 12pm on March 21. Yanni Asprou, a barber in Holton Road, Barry, will perform the procedure on all the volunteers who are hoping to raise funds to support Our Orchard.
Our Orchard, which was one of Mr Egan’s selected charities during his year of office in 2016/17, is a Cardiff & Vale Health Board project designed to enhance the health and wellbeing of Llandough Hospital patients and the local community. The Our Orchard vision is to create a unique space which will become a legacy for generations to come.
The long-term project, created on seven acres of semi-rural pasture land and woodland, will be established in phases and include a semi-natural planted area which has been set aside for the protection of plants and wildlife, wildflower meadows, and a bee sanctuary.
