ALL Saints Church in Penarth are set to host a series of special services to mark the Easter period.

Good Friday will see a children's service taking place at 10am on March 30, designed to teach children about the events that took place in the life of Christ that led up to Good Friday.

The interactive session is designed to be suitable for children and families, and will be followed by hot cross buns and chocolate treats.

Between 12pm and 3pm, a service entitled 'Into the Darkness' will focus on worship and reflection, featuring scripture readings, songs and silence.

The following day will see an 'Easter Eve Service of Light and Sound', suitable for all ages, with the service set to begin quietly in darkness before ending in light as the resurrection unfolds.

Easter Sunday itself will see further services throughout the day, beginning with a 'Sunrise Service' at the top of Cliff Hill alongside other church congregations at 6.30am, followed by a Holy Eucharist at 8am and a family service 'Easter Day Celebration with communion at 10am.
