Scout plea
Were you a Wolf Cub or a Boy Scout?
Did you ever attend a World Scout Jamboree?
Did you attend the Arrow Park Jamboree in 1957?
In 2007, Scouting will be celebrating its Sunrise - 100 years of Scouting.
One of the major events taking place will be the World Scout Jamboree 2007, with 40,000 Scouts from all over the world attending this camp.
This jamboree is to be held in the UK as part of the overall 2007 celebrations.
Penarth and District is pleased that seven of its members have been selected to attend and are in the process of raising the necessary funds to go.
It will cost each member approximately £1,000, so a total of £7,000 needs to be raised.
Although the Scouts are busy with sponsored cycle rides, car boot sales, barbecues, quizzes etc, there is always room for more funds. If you could support these youngsters in their endeavours and make a donation, this would be most gratefully received.
Donations (payable to Penarth District Scout Council) can be sent to the District Secretary, Barry Angus, GFF 1 Coronation Terrace, Penarth, Vale of Glamorgan CF64 1HN.
Please write on the back of the cheque 'Jamboree Fund'.
Please include your details so we can acknowledge you donation.
We thank you in advance for your support.
