THEY'RE ACE!:Three young members of the Windsor Tennis club, Alexander Bradley-Glinister, Zac Essenhigh and Rohan Rayani, produced great performances at the Welsh junior championships.
SOME OF the youngest players at Windsor Tennis club, Alexander Bradley-Glinister, Zac Essenhigh and Rohan Rayani, have had a successful few months of competition, which culminated in them competing in the Welsh junior championships.
The event attracts the top players from across Wales and the South West in the under 8s singles competition and, after some hard fought matches in the preliminary rounds, all three boys made it to the final 16, where Rohan was beaten by his team mate, Zac, in an extremely close match.
The quarter-finals were a tense affair, with Zac losing to the overall winner and Addy progressing to the semi-finals, where he just missed out on a place in the final after a very close match. Addy went on to win his play-off match and came third overall. Coach Melissa Griffiths commented: 'It has been fantastic to see how much the boys have improved this year. They are all talented juniors but, most importantly, they love playing tennis!’ The boys are now competing in the 'Black Dog' tennis circuit and are all doing very well.
