Karate youngsters enjoy success

THE Welsh Karate League held their sixth tournament of the season at Maesteg Leisure Centre on Sunday, with 16 fighters from the Cogan Leisure Centre club taking part.

Five were finalists in their categories; Jade Parsons won gold in her category 26, Leigha Godard won gold in her Category 14, and other medallists, as runners-up, were Keana Hutchinson, Trinty Hutchinson and Tylia Hutchinson. Mike Humphries, the club's main coach, said: “This tournament was one of the hardest competitions to date. The atmosphere throughout was electrifying."
