2:00pm Friday 8th February 2013 in Sport
SULLY Spartans Cricket Club start their indoor nets at the Swalec stadium on Thursday, February 28 (8.30pm to 9.30 pm), and then every Thursday up to and including April 4.
Then comes four outdoor friendly matches starting against the Bengal Tigers at the picturesque Cathedral ground on Sunday, April 7.
The following Sunday (April 14), the Spartans play South Wales Sri Lankans, before playing a home game against Whitchurch at Burnham Avenue on Saturday, April 20.
The final friendly is away to Barry Wanderers on Sunday, April 28.
The league season commences the following Saturday, and the Spartans are looking forward to their first-ever league match.
The Spartans have been invited to play in the fulltoss Midweek League this season and that will start week commencing Wednesday, May 1.
Due to the midweek league there will not be a mid-season tour to Poole.
Instead it is hoped the Spartans will tour India in 2014, with two games in Hyderabad and two in Chennai (ex Spartans and Barry Wanderers player KP is making the arrangements).
Finally, the Spartans take on Glamorgan Centurions in the Cardiff Indoor League, with the winner progressing into the Super 4 finals.
