THE ladies of the Sully Indoor Bowls Club are celebrating success in a national competition featuring clubs from across South, West and Mid Wales.
For the third time - their previous successes came in 2001 and 2010 - the team has won the Welsh Ladies' Indoor Bowling Association's D J Championship League.
The national two-rink competition is played in two groups, with the winner of each meeting in the championship final.
Sully won seven of their eight group games - against Radnor, Cardiff B, Earlswood B, Bro Myrddin (Carmarthen), Heatherton (Tenby), Swansea, Newport and Merthyr - to qualify for the final where they met Earlswood A. In a closely-fought final, a Sully rink skipped by Ann Dainton won comfortably and Myra Newman's rink, although losing, did enough to ensure overall victory for the local side.
