FREDA Emery of Dinas Powys has been selected to play tennis for Wales in the Four Nations Over 55s Tournament against England, Scotland, and Ireland, being held in Glasgow this week.
A member of Dinas Powys Tennis Club (and formerly of Barry Athletic Tennis Club) Freda has played in the top premier divisions of the South Wales summer and winter leagues for a number of years culminating in representing South Wales at county level on numerous occasions.
She is a well respected player whose natural ability has led to the accolade to represent her country.
Freda said: "I am delighted at representing Wales and excited at the thought of competing at such a high level."
Her husband Harry said: I am very proud of her achievement and commitment to the sport that she loves and, together with the members of Dinas Powys and Barry Tennis Clubs, wish her every success throughout the tournament."
