NEWPORT COUNTY 1

SULLY SPORTS 1

This was two points dropped, rather than one gained, as far as Sully Sports were concerned.

With everyone putting in a fantastic effort, Sully deserved to run out winners but, with some good defending and a bit of luck, Newport managed to gain a point.

Sully created chances and dominated the game but just couldn’t get the ball in the opposition net.

Late in the first half, Sully were dealt a devastating blow, with Natasha White suffering an horrific knee twist, resulting in an immediate hospital visit. All wish her good news and a speedy recovery.

This resulted in the introduction of manager Sarah George, who picked up exactly where Natasha left off.

In the second half, Sully were caught napping to fall behind, but there was an immediate response and an equaliser from Reynolds with a good finish inside the six-yard box.

From this point on, it was business as usual, with the likes of Jess Ham raiding down the right at will, but to no avail, as Sully just could not get on the end of any crosses or finish any attacks.

Woman of the match was shared again, this time between Reynolds and Ham.

Sully : White, Molly Chapman, Moger, Hattie Gillet, White, Ham, Reynolds, Smyth, Margetts, Young, Cogbill and Sarah George.
